Event 1: Water the grass! The goal was to watch a demo of a water balloon slingshot in action and then determine the parameters (amount of water, total stretch of the slingshot, and angle of launch to predict where YOUR water ballon will land. Available Materials: slingshot, balloons, spring scale, mass measuring devices, tape or meter sticks.

2: How big is that thing? The goal was to determine the height of the Doane campus bell tower indirectly. Available Materials: latex tubing, spring or electronic force gauges, mass measuring devices, an assortment of known masses, tape or meter sticks.

3: The Lighthouse Light a light bulb exactly 20 times in 14 seconds without touching the device once the timer starts. Available materials: flashlight bulb, D battery, 20-g mass, string, a piece of wire, a piece of tape, stand.
